Small but huge in experience and service focus, this is a team that moves quickly with the times, is able to adapt to industry trends and has minimised internal costs to offer an affordable solution. This team under the leadership of Flash expert Niqui Merret inflicts stringent tests on Flash Developers who may be called on to provide additional services to clients. The Jade Hopper team utilises modern technology to be at the side of clients where ever globally they may be situate.

Background to Jade Hopper

Jade Hopper was born in September 2007. It was felt at the time that the seriously substantial work demands on Niqui Merret and her dedicated team deserved the establishment of a new business entity. This would be an enterprise recognised globally for its high moral code in doing business, its focus on providing the best possible solutions to clients while taking into consideration user experiences, technology and budget constraints.

The name has it’s foundation in two concepts. First the word Jade denotes the colour green. In line with the colour, Jade Hopper promises to strive to be environmentally aware in all it does and adhere to and support actions that will reduce its carbon footprint wherever possible.

Jade is also a beautiful gem stone which represents good fortune and blessings in the East. The East is quickly becoming an economic giant and a power to take note of. Not only that, but some member countries such as Korea and Japan are leaders in mobile interaction experiences and it was felt that the stone would be an appropriate representation. Jade Hopper will always wish its clients great fortune and happiness.

The use of a cricket or hopper as the second component was taken from the idea that interactions by users often seem to mirror the actions of a cricket. The mouse clicks or hand signals on touch screens are fleeting. They often jump from point to point. In addition to this crickets or hoppers seem to have very limited attention spans and that too is part of the nature of interactive media.

But above all else the name, and by association the enterprise, was to represent a sense of fun.

The URL was bought and the idea was promptly packed in cotton wool for a short while until a designer was briefed to develop the Corporate ID. The CI included all components including an electronic hopper for extra fun items such as stickers, shop sign, T-shirts, beer mugs and more (alright we believe in big dreams here people). In between busy periods for the Jade Hopper team, the website content, both design and copy was developed and the first steps have been taken.
